Jackson Randy Rhoads Serial Number. Looking forward to playing shows in Fort Worth Texas, Kansas City and Indianapolis with the Claire Daly Quartet. We’ll be playing the music of Thelonius Monk, more of his obscure compositions, which we recorded on the album Baritone Monk produced by the music loving folks at North Coast Brewery. Sept 11 – Scat Jazz Lounge, Fort Worth (Texas) 8:30 Sept 12 – The Jazz Kitchen, Indianapolis Sept 13 – The Blue Room, Kansas City His music is melodic, rhythmic in a quirky sort a way, always swinging, and they all leave room for improvisers to find their space in them. See you, or your texan cousins and midwest friends, at the show!!

Back from Calgary and Saskatoon, Canada, and what a trip it was!! It was so great to see old friends and meet new ones. In Calgary we dove into the music of Miles Davis from the 1970’s, which had us exploring tunes like Sivad and Black Satin. I was playing rhodes and used some electronics to create certain textures from a Line 6. We then drove up to the Saskatchewan Jazz Festival in Saskatoon, where we opened for Medeski Martin and Wood, and John Scofield. Incidentally, along the way you see some amazing things.

There is a big wide open sky and at times you can see the snow capped Canadian Rockies, fields as far as the eye can see of bright yellow, canola plants, a road that winds down below these hills they call the Badlands, which is where they have found a whole bunch of dinosaurs (which are now in the natural history museum in nyc). Big fun at the jam sessions also, where the students of the jazz intensive, threw down and made some great music through the week. Apple Loops Utility Logic Pro X Download. It was great to jam with members of Maceo Parker’s group, Galactic, and others. Saskatoon, special place.

So where I live, I am unable to play the piano loud at night, so I have adjusted by making my own system to mute the instrument.or else someone starts banging a broom stick on their ceiling. Basically I take a thin cotton blanket and rest it between the hammers and the strings. This somehow makes the piano sound like a rhodes electric piano while also makes it much softer.

The touch changes too, making me work for each note and really commit. Recently I have noticed that when I muffle the piano, the tunes I write are just different, probably just cause I am playing with a different sound.inspiration coming from the most unusual places!
